What To Expect From The Pre-Therapy Intake Session

If the consultation session with your doctor results in you deciding that AMI's psychotherapy is a good fit for you, then the pre-therapy intake is scheduled.

During this intake session, we have some important things to do: a gathering of your personal, psychological, and medical history, a plan (if necessary) for financing your therapy, and the creation of your therapeutic goals. There is also the mandatory paperwork required by the State of Colorado to establish a doctor-patient relationship. This paperwork consists of: an informed consent for either adult, adolescent, or child individual,
or couples or family therapy. There is also a statement of therapeutic orientation, and a disclosure statement. The last two documents outline my qualifications and my treatment orientations as a doctor of psychology. The informed consent presents important information about the therapy itself, including: doctor-patient confidentiality, session fees and lengths, appointment cancellation policies, and your rights as a client in therapy. Please feel free to download and review these documents.

The fee for this initial intake session is $300 and the session lasts for 90-120 minutes. This is a one time only fee. Like all fees for service, the intake fee is due and payable before the intake session takes place. Payment for services are made electronically
. The fee for adult individual sessions after the intake is $150 for fifty minutes. Depending no the doctor you choose, therapy appointments are scheduled for weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and on some Saturdays. Adolescent, couples, and family sessions are priced a bit differently. Please review AMI's fee schedule for further information
