Do I Qualify for Sliding Scale Therapy?

As part AMI's strict adherence to the ethical code of the American Psychological Association, Dr. Wilson does keep two "sliding scale" slots in his practice. Currently, both sliding scale slots are open. The standard fee for a clinical hour at AMI is $95. Sliding scale clients are: people in need of counseling or psychotherapy who also have a limited ability to pay for these professional services.

A sliding scale means that, within some boundaries, the client pays only what he or she can actually afford. A sliding scale is not available to people who could pay the standard fee if they only budgeted their treatment. A sliding scale is not available to people who could otherwise borrow the funds for treatment.

If qualified, AMI's sliding scale ranges from $45 per session, on the low end, to $75 per session, on the high end. Your actual fee per session will be determined after consultation with Dr. Wilson.

Please note: some people request a sliding scale when they can actually pay for or borrow the funds to pay for services in full. Please do not be dishonest - it is not just a waste of everyone's precious time and resources, it can actually cause harm to someone who truly needs a sliding scale. Dr. Wilson is very rigorous about his sliding scale program. If such a deception is uncovered, therapy will be terminated as soon as ethically possible.

If you would like to be considered for a sliding scale slot, AND you are serious about engaging with
AMI's psychotherapy, please contact Dr. Wilson today.
