Is AMI's Psychotherapy Religious?

AMI's psychotherapy is NOT religious. It has no affiliation or association with the practice of Buddhism or any other religion.

The techniques and insights of Buddhism, in particular, are very well suited to being secularized and molded into a mainstream framework for helping people improve the quality of their minds and lives. Most clients of AMI's psychotherapy are Christian, some are Jewish, some are Hindu, Buddhist, and Muslim. Some clients are agnostic or atheistic.

Most clients report that the therapy helped them to become better Christians, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, etc. They report that it improved the practice of their religion or just helped them become a more authentic and balanced human being. Why would this be so? Because psychotherapy improved the client's ability to work with their own mind, and from their mind (their thoughts, emotions, etc) their entire life is created.

AMI's Psychotherapy cultivates the positive qualities of the human mind (awareness, clarity, insight, generosity, patience, compassion, kindness, stability, love, equanimity, etc). These qualities do not belong to any particular religion, philosophy, or mode of inquiry. Therefore, no matter what religious preference a client has (or does not have), AMI's Psychotherapy can address the difficulties of human life and cultivate meaning and clarity in a client's mind.
